'The Hold Up' is a storyette by Hussar about a US sailor (Norman Simpson) who, freshly arrived in port, is attacked by a leather-clad tough (Ron Wiltshire) who tries to steal his wallet. His cries for help are heard by a British sailor (Frank Harrod) who intervenes. Together they humiliate the attacker.
The earliest reference to the set is a photo spread in Man Alive 13 (Mar 61). Advertisements followed in Trim 25 (Oct '61) and Tomorrow's Man V9#12 (Nov '61). Towards the end of the Royale-Hussar era the set was featured again in an advertisement in support of a lavish spread in 'Champ' Annual, early in 1964
