David Trood

David Trood by Royale Studio (in Vim, Nov 1960)

This elegant pose of David Trood was snapped by Royale in 1960, but, surprisingly, it's the only image we have of him apart from two showing him in a fight with Ron Fenn in 'The Thief' 18 months earlier. I haven't found any other pictures by this name in the beefcake archive which I use (Source 9). 

 

The surviving pictures of 'The Thief' don't show us what David Trood in that photo-set actually looked like and I suspect that the photo above might actually be a picture of David Tompkins. The model's facial appearance is a good fit with him, and the photograph's publication date fits with his storyette appearances better than it does the 'Thief' storyette. Royale also had a model called Reg Trood, but he was much earlier, in 1958.
