ARHP-1 Thumbnail from Royale Catalogue List A |
A photo set which appears to have been a very simple 'storyette' with Alan R and Harry P (no further identification supplied) playing two Royal Navy and US Navy sailors enjoying a bit of camaraderie together.

In Royale's catalogue this set is tagged simply as 1-ARHP but the 'Limey and Yankee' label is more helpful and was also referenced in their ads. The models are only identified as Alan and Harry, presumably Alan R and Harry P since the set is tagged as 1-ARHP. It's implied that there is an earlier set but the only one I know of by these two is actually called 2-ARHP (see below). This seems to be another example of Royale's somewhat random approach to identification and sequencing
(see Peter George PUN-3, for example).
Both sets were first published in List 'A' of Royale Studio's Catalogue (covering 1957-8)
1-ARHP consisted of 12 pictures of which the mitchmen Royale Studio Open Archive
has copies of just 2, both retrieved from low resolution, compressed images.

Royale's ARHP-2 description gives more information about the men,
it reveals that Alan and Harry are two more sailors recruited by Royale
from a Royal Tournament gun crew.
(see also Royale's use of military servicemen).
In this set, however, they strip off their sailor's uniforms
and pose in pouches portraying fencers and wrestlers.

This image is also taken from the catalogue, a static wrestling pose.
It's an interesting domination image, forcing his opponent to kneel.
This is an AI-enlarged image, the original is fuzzy but gives more subtle detail
It's the only illustration the Archive has of the 12 pictures in this set
so ARHP-2 is not listed separately, just appended here.
Similarly there isn't a separate model index page for this pair.
