David Reid

David Reid was one of Royale's best-looking models with a fine physique. He appeared in some of the earliest and most memorable Royale storyettes and later went on to found his own studio DavMel.

Includes shots from his first solo set for Royale, DAR (1959)
and other solo sets, including the 1961 'Park' set above.
Expansion of this article is  pending

DAVID REID STORYETTES

In addition to his solo sets, David Reid appeared in the following Royale Studio storyettes:

David plays a young sailor bullied by two comrades,
played by John Bastock and John Brien.
He gets his own back in the end

This new version with rediscovered material
supersedes the original mitchmen article, Royale Studio 04

David Reid chastised by John Brien and ano (unseen)
Navy CP images related to 'Bullies' but not part of that set (?)

David Reid and Fred Collins are brought to the Unapproved School and relentlessly humiliated and disciplined by Paul Clark and Tom Harding. Eventually they manage to escape....

In this picture, David (second left) is standing next to Fred Collins (on his right) and you get a great sense of his bulk although Fred himself had amazing thighs. Such is the fickleness of genes. You can also see here that David was not particularly tall, which may account for his less imposing appearance in some of the BULLIES pictures.

R99 WHYY (Why Ys?), 1960

Full article pending, 3 models try on underwear. You should be able to spot David on the right and Fred Collins on the left.

These fragments are parked in folder Royale 99, my Miscellaneous Sets folder in the mitchmen Open Archive of Royale Studios photos. Fuller article pending

R99 THE TEST, 1960
Full Article pending,
David is forcibly stripped, forced to fight and dunked in water (someone at Royale clearly had a thing about water tortures!). His co-stars in The Test are 'Barry and Brian', Royale had a number of models who used these forenames but the pictures above are not clear enough to link them.

This fragment is also parked in Royale 99, my Miscellaneous Sets folder in the mitchmen Open Archive of Royale Studios photos.
