Peter George

Peter George's Appearances for Royale and Hussar Studio 

Peter George was one of Royale's biggest stars, appearing in a number of storyettes and producing a large number of solo sets. His boyish charm was complemented by a well-honed, substantial physique although he doesn't seemed to have competed as a body builder. He was described as being a (serving) RAF PT Instructor in his early sets and tight shorts feature prominently, but there were also discreet examples of bondage (in PUN-2). Later there were poses in fetishist waders and pouches, images which continued to be reproduced well into the eighties. In his storyettes he is often shown being subjected to domination, bondage and corporal punishment, but sometimes fighting back as well.

Peter George had 3 solo sets listed in the 1960 Royale catalogue - 2-PUN, 3-PUN and 4-PUN. There isn't a 1-PUN mentioned, but I think it probably had existed, but been deleted by Jan 1960. My identification of it's possible contents is described at the 1-PUN link below.

3-PUN  Peter George in PT Kit (ca Feb 1959)

Despite it's numbering, PUN-3 was described as Peter's Introductory Set in an addendum to the Royale Catalogue issued between Jan and Apr 1959, called EX-3 (extras). Apart from a couple of loosely related images, the PUN-1 shorts and belt images don't seemed to have started appearing in magazines until late 1961. 

Possibly connected with set BR-2 below.

1-PUN  (presumed) Peter George in Underwear  (Apr 1959?)

This set is not mentioned in the Jan 1960 Catalogue, but the underwear  images grouped here were published alongside samples from 2-PUN and 4-PUN in Spring '59. The set may have been listed in pre-1960 listings, but deleted prior to Jan 1960

2-PUN  Peter George in Pouch and Bondage (Apr 1959)

This set features some of sexy images of Peter with hands tied (as illustrated in the thumbnail). The rest of the set includes some masterful pouch images (see top of article) which reached the front pages of beefcake magazines

4-PUN Peter George Nude, dark background (Jan 1960) 

A collection of genuinely nude images that showcase Peter's elegant, muscular physique and amazing backside! No frontals of course.

In addition there are traces of several other solo sets which appeared during 1961-62 

attributed variously to Royale, Dolphin or Hussar, as follows:

Peter George Posing with Bamboo Pole  (1961)

Mainly in pouch but distinctly different in style to PUN2.
It's characterised by a lighter background with interesting shadowing. 

Peter George Nudes 2 (light background) (1961?)

A second group of nudes also shot against a light coloured background.
It features classical themes contrasted with Peter's boyish side.

Peter George in Fetish Pouch and Waders  (1961)

A daring group featuring fetish style clothing - a pouch with a chain mesh-like outer covering and also rubber waders as seen in the thumbnail. The wader images were still being printed in fetish magazines in the 1980's, long after other Royale images had been forgotten.

Peter George as Farm Boy/Fisherman  (1961)

Dressed in straw hat and tight, rolled up nautical trousers,
it's hard to tell if Peter is meant to be a Fisherman or a Farm Boy in this small group.
It's possibly related to the Fetish Group as suggested by the shared net.

The Storyettes

Peter George's first two 'storyettes' also appeared in 1959. 

They had fairly dark, fetish themes and featured Ron Wiltshire as his antagonist.

WHIP (aka Whip Duel) 1959, R38

This set appeared in Catalogue List 8 (July 1959). 

The thumbnail shows Peter George on his knees whipping Ron Wiltshire. Pictures from it are few and far between 

but this storyette will form the subject of a separate mitchmen article. 

The Captive (CAPT ) 1959, R46 

From Royale's Catalogue List No 9 (Oct 1959). 

Peter George undergoes corporal punishment at the hands of Ron Wiltshire in 3 different scenarios - as a naked Roman Slave (as shown), as a Regency buck in tights and in a modern military setting in white shorts.

Peter's utter nudity and vulnerability in the catalogue illustration is stark and quite daring for the time. 

Airman's Gym Spanking (BR2) 1959? R05

This set showcases Peter's 'PT Trainer' and spankability credentials. 

He undergoes physical training under the direction of a sadistic Navy bully played by Tom Harding (?)

I've not found any trace at all of this set in the beefcake magazines from the period. It doesn't appear in the 1960 Royale catalogue either, but the 'eagle' vest that Peter wears is featured there in two solo sets starring Pete Beale (Jan 1959) and Steve Wilson (Jan 1960), see Airman's Vest. You would expect this 'Gym Spanking' set to be close in time to the PUN-3 PT instructor set and all the RAF ballyhoo that surrounded Peter's debut in 1959.

Peter George plays a drunken Sailor who is abducted from a bar and enslaved

Escape (1960) R09

This set came to me labelled as 'Captivity' but it's actually called 'Escape', a story which Royale began to advertise in Jan 1960.

It is one of their enslavement /work punishment storyettes so both titles fit. You can spot Peter George 2nd left looking relaxed and gracefully posed (with bulge) alongside his burly fellow captive and flanked by Guards. 

Clothesless (Hussar Studio) ca1961 R34, article pending 

Clothes-less is a Strip Poker storyette which can be dated to late 1961 or earlier from an ad which appeared Man Alive 17.

R01 Sailors in the Rigging ca 1963 R91C 

I've not found any trace at all of these well-known images in the beefcake magazines from the period, but other pictures that use the same rigging prop
date between 1961 and 1963. 

If these are Peter's last shoots for Royale/Hussar they pair neatly with the bondage images in the 2-PUN set, to bookend a career studded with bondage imagery, tantalising hints of what might have been.

R31 Facist Youth

A controversial set in which Peter George plays a member of a Youth/Scout Organisation whose uniform seems inspired by 1930's Fascism. He is accosted by a soldier who forces him to don a leather version of a scout uniform and then begins to undress himself. The image left appeared discreetly in Bonham's Catalogue for the 2021 sale of the 'Originals' collection of Royale photographs. I have yet to decide how or whether it's possible to review this set at mitchmen without getting zapped by Google.
