Cliff Smith

Royale Studio - Cliff Smith as a 'Hussar' 1958

Cliff Smith appeared for Royale in a number of 'storyettes', usually in a biker role
and in stories featuring motorcycles.

His earliest appearance was in 1958, so he can claim to be one of the Royale pioneers.
He also featured in the motorcycle image that launched Dolphin Studio in 1961
and seems to have still been around at the end of the Royale/Hussar era too,
popping up ca.1964 in US Civil War kepi and pouch for Hussar Studio

Slight of build, he was more 'average young man' than muscular beefcake
but did pose naked/pouched for Scott of London and Domenique, as well as Royale.

His solo shoots for Royale had disappeared from the Catalogue by 1960,
but he's usually wearing jeans in surviving solo images.

He had a striking face and trademark quiff that's easy to recognise in poor quality images,
and was also in demand as a clothing model.
