| Royale Studio - Bob Flynn |
Bob Flynn was in at the start of the Royale adventure, with a solo set in 1958 and a 'storyette' datable to October of that year - 'Boxers' opposite Don Avard. Popular Man later described Bob as "a boxing enthusiast with a super physique".
His 'rough diamond' persona sporting multiple tattoos probably appealed to Clavering. He brought it out in this image with the help of a drooping cigarette. The set description called Bob a 'mixed-up kid' and compared him to James Dean.
There's no evidence of follow-up work for Royale. Significantly, his catalogue entry is coded 'BOF' not '1- BOF' which would have implied more sets existed. However, he later posed for Vic White and for Scott (naked). These photographers brought out his youthful bubble and cheeriness.
