Royale's description of this set seems to have caught the office typist having an off-day, so I have transcribed it more clearly below:
"Those two young Guardsmen from Welsh, rugger-playing Wales show you tackling and the like.
The last two pictures show him practically denuded of shorts & jersey.
Trefor and Eric, from sets 1 & 2-ERTR are the stars".
Sadly we don't have those last two pictures, in fact all we have is the one shown above, from the whole set of 12.
I haven't come across any advertising for Royale's 'Rugger' in the beefcake press, but we can estimate its release date from its position in the Royale catalogue, which is in list 'EX3' between VI and VII, sometime in the first quarter of 1959 (see 1960 Royale Catalogue article). The description above fits with that estimate. implying it came after ERTR-2 (Jun '58) but before ERTR-3 (Apr '59)
